Not only does everything feel like a waste of time these days but I also get bored easily too so I thought I’d randomly review some sweets I was bought.
The sweets in question are Swizzels Loadsa chews which consists of: 4 mini Banana Skids (Banana and Toffee bar), 3 Toff-eee (small Toffee chews), 6 Mr Chew (3 pink and 3 yellow Tutti-Frutti chews), 2 Strawberry flavor mini Refresher bars (basically a chew with some sherbet inside), 2 Raspberry and Milk Drumsticks (basically chews on a lollipop stick) and a Lemon Refresher chew (aka the original refresher flavor).
As the original I started with the Lemon Refresher chew. Unwrapping the sweet is a little bit annoying as the paper easily gets stuck but that obviously won’t affect the taste. You can smell the sherbet with a lemony hint if you put it up to your nose and its a really nice smell. Like the name chew suggests you can’t bite straight through it in one try but instead have to chew multiple times, as you do this you release the sherbet hidden inside that gives the chew the majority of it’s gentle flavor. I still enjoy them alot.
Next is the Strawberry Refresher bar, notably easier to open than the refresher chew but still gets a bit stuck. It also has a pleasant smell like the other had. The taste and texture are similar although I do believe this one to be a bit stronger, I didn’t really have a favorite one though. Refresher bars are useful when cold and hard as rock as you can snap them into pieces instead of them merely bending.
After that was the Raspberry and Milk Drumstick and despite the more complex looking wrapper it was easier to open with almost no rips. Highly amusing is the wrapper sort of looks like a cape if you leave it on the stick. Like the other sweets it has a gentle smell but not very strong. The raspberry flavor is very noticeable and tasty with the milk flavor almost lurking in the background kind of like milk bottle. Unlike the refresher bars these can also be sucked which I actually recommend, it’s obviously weaker but lasts much longer.
It was then time to try the Tutti Frutti flavour “Mr. Chew” chews and as you can see from the picture they seemed to be the same (surprisingly easy to open too). They didn’t have a noticeable smell like the other sweets so it was straight to tasting. It felt almost rock solid so I assumed I had to suck it for a bit which revealed a strange yet once again nice taste, I couldn’t tell what sort of fruits it claimed to have (although Tutti Frutti is supposedly the name of a fruit icecream and means All Fruits in Italian). Despite appearances both were difference and the one from the pink wrapper was easily the strongest of the two although I think think the yellow one is a bit better.
2nd to last sweet was the Toff-eee (Swizzels are notably shit at naming things which is simply toffee. The wrappers just as easy to open as the other chews although while it does have a faint smell it’s very ignorable. It was easily the most rock hard of the sweets but it became soft very quickly and sent out a steady stream of tasty toffee flavour although nothing special. Nice to have either way.
Last sweet is the Banana Skids (Banana and Toffee mini chew bar). The wrapper was the easiest to open even if there was 2 layers to it which was strange. Just like the toffee chew there wasn’t much of a smell to it although I’m convinced I could smell something banana like. The taste was surprising, instead of a weak banana flavor it’s a notably stronger flavour instead. I could say it was just as confusing as the Tutti Frutti chews but at least you know what this was meant to be.
Overall its ok although i would of liked it more if there wasn’t so many Banana Skids and another Lemon Refresher, its the original after all. Other than that its got a nice bit of variety, you can tell they’ve been making making them for quite some time. If someone was bored enough to read the whole thing then thanks a lot, even if this catches on it will probably be rare since i don’t have money to waste on nice food but I’ll be happy to write anything if people would read it.
